It’s you know, it’s been an honor to coach, so many kids and to have helped so many develop and what I have found, and it’s kind of philosophy that I have is that the coach is always supposed to change for the player and that’s when it comes to the youth into development and I recently had a conversation with a player and their parent, and it was about their development and how to get the most out of their child and the child nature. That was of a perfectionist kind where they wanted to do everything perfect, and you know when, in the game of soccer it’s it’s not possible due every single thing perfectly, not in life, not in a game, but it is very possible to stopperfect game in the sense that your work ethic, you work hard, your technical ability with sound. You can even make the best decisions, but there’s always things that you can do better. Even if you have quote on quote the perfect game, there’s still things that you can improve on with in that situation within those games and and the idea behind it, and-and this is why I was trying to help the kid ways to was to change your mind, set on what is perfect and what you expect to see happen in the game and the perfection comes from making strong tackles going into every tackle whether you can. You know when them are not you’re still going in as strong as you can to try to get that ball, also playing the ball to your teammates, making sure it gets to their feet and making runs to get the ball back again. Tulsa Soccer Camps

It’s the effort that you’re putting in and itif you mess up your doing your best to correct it and that’s going to be in life too, and if you mess up, you know you repent and you go back and you make a change, make a difference if you have to say I’m, sorry to someone or if you have to go, and you know fix the thing that you broke whatever it is:that’s how it is a chance to look at it in in the game of soccer as well, where, if you mess up your working to get that ball back because that’s going to another player yesterday and practice was, was you know, your team relies on you it’s bigger than you. So if you quit and you stop trying to get that ball and he stopped trying to play the ball correctly and you just thinking about all it’s my turn to drizzle I’m going to dribble and do whatever I want to do it. Just breaks down the game that breaks down your team. Your team gets frustrated with you. The other opposition is able to win the ball from you and attack your goal, and it’s frustrating for all the players around youso. It’s it’s a situation where you have to see that the game is bigger than you and it’s about your team as well as you and your coach and and how you play out there on the field. Not just yourself and the coach has to be that way to the coach has to look at it as a I have to do what’s best for the team. I’m also looking out what’s best for the players to, but the team comes before the player, but the player is also very important because they have to be developed and, as a coach, you have two more. If you have to change into whatever it is, you need to be. If you need to be stern, youtube eastern, if you need to be call me become if it’s caring, you become caring whatever. That is a needs to be done so that that player can develop. That player. Can you see that they are valued that they have qualities that that make them great, but also the playoffsunderstanding? This is where the coach has to do a good job of informing them. That there’s going to be some criticism, there’s going to be constructive criticism that is going to be given. Can I use that word a lot of times I hear people don’t like the words constructive and criticism put together, but I’m a little old school when it comes to that and I like those two words together, because it shows you that yes, you’re going to be corrected, you’re going to be criticized you and be told what you could do better, but it’s for your betterment, and that was talking to a player the other day and they said coach I wanted to hear more positive things from you and I said:we’ll wait, wait! A minute! I give you constructive, criticismand I said that to me is very positive and the player said:well, it’s good that I get it. Tulsa Soccer Camps

You know. I was good that you tell me that what I need to fix that also want to hear the good things that I do so I was like. Okay, I could do that for you to ride there, I had to change and and give them more positive feedback. Even though I interpreted, you know correcting as positive feedback in the game. So it’s it’s one of those things to do to change your mindset as a coach and I also have two player two to be able to receive. You know information, received criticism and then go from there, and you know recently one of my favorite coaches of all-time arson vendor find my favorite coach of all-time are close to, but he is about to step down from arsenal. He decided that now is the time for him to leave and i, see that it’s going toweather of arsenal’s been struggling to get into the champions league in right now, I think. Tomorrow they have a game against atletico madrid. If they win they go through if they tie or lose I’m, not sure what happened so, but if they lose, they go home. I, don’t know they won’t go through, but it’s late, I’m, not sure what will happen, but I saw that the team, once he announced his retirement, the fans, the team, other clubs at all, come out to going to give him his is the praises of what he has done and on one of the things that I think it was so special about. What are some finger has done a zebra beauty to the game and seeing teams play a certain way where they move the ball and they’re all moving at the unit and they’re passing in and dribbling and looking for each other. He made the game flow so well. He uses of the type of total football Thati’ve, only seen like pep guardiola, recently use and it just beautiful to watch and I think the game should be beautiful. Tulsa Soccer Camps

I think it should be entertaining I think it should be creative and witty, and in order to do so as a coach, you have to change to help your players become what they need to become. A few like I said. If you have to be stern your stern, if you have to be kind, you be kind but to get them to play this beautiful brand of soccer. It’s going to take time, it’s going to take a lot of extra work and a lot of extra time and then explaining and being okay with explaining, explaining again until I get it, like teaching on the young child. To say thank you. You tell him a million times and finally, over the course of a few years, if I say thank you and it’s like, why are they did it? So that’s pretty much what it’s like in the coach. You have to be like a chameleon for the youthprofessionals that may be different, but for the youth game think being a chameleon.
