This is episode, number 165 and it’s called o’neal’s best 11so. Today, I decided jackson last time you had your best 11, so I decide to put out, and these are players who, when I was growing up, made the most impact on my life. Whether I was watching old footage of them or I was watching them play live. These are the players that inspired me the most out of all the players that I could have picked and so I’m going to go ahead and and go through my list of players and for me the goalkeeper was the one place that I have struggled to to think of a player that was really the most inspirational to me and grown up, but I may have to say. Thati may have to say that it was vanbrocklin the dutch goalkeeper and he was to me I just an extremely good goalkeeper. He had great technique. He had a commanding presence in goal. He was fearless and he helped holland to win the 1988 european championship, and you know I think he was someone that I just I was a really liked a lot the next step above him in front of van brocklin I would have put from south korea and in 2002 world cuphe to me just control that defense and he had a commanding presence at also seen him play live in 1994 world cup in dallas at the cotton bowl, where he scored the beautiful ball that he curled at the, outsiders right foot and went upper 90 far post against germany and I love. Seeing him fly, he just left his technique. He played simply have division, who had the leadership even talking about and I just want to go watch him play another player that had a lot of impact. For me, I kind of have two players in this position and I know one of them put more of some kind of defensive. Midfield reichard would be the other centre-back that I would go with, and in this place, of course, is beckenbauer. Beckenbauer was awesome, but I didn’t want his much footage beckenbauer as I did of reichard and ride card to me. I just loved his ability to to read the game. To start the counterto win tackles to score goals when needed, and he was just fearless german striker’s hell, yeah yeah yeah. He played defensive, mid, he’s kind of go back and forth between the two. If somebody’s place in her back sometimes play as a defensive, midfielder yeah he’s a player to what happened with that foolishness. Just focus on you know what they they do well and so are growing up. My dad had me watching brazil 1986, world, cup footage and josie mar was the first outside back I’ve paid attention to overlap. He was the right back overlapped and scored beautiful goals yet again to go, see, scored in the 86 world cup of jaime lives, excellent ball control. He was just wonderful to watch and and-and he just was so graceful and skillful. Roberto carlos was my left back for me. I. Did he just a blinding speed? Very good technique can drive a ball. That is very inspirational for me and i, just i, just I loved how he played the player that had the most impact in my career of playing with georgie haji haji I put as my left midfielder and this a 4-3-3. So you be my left mid in the the midfield, so you could have talked and get the ball. Rome and i. Just I tried to pattern my play after him, even down to how you were his socks. I did the same thing, although even throughout college that haji to me was was the player of the ultimate player. He can use the left, but he keeps his right foot. He had vision. He had a ball control. He can dribble and beat people he can cross. The ball hit the bong and I’m 60 yards down the line. He just was a beautiful player to watch and had a commanding presence, very strong and aggressive personality on the field, and you might just miss him off the field. Cuz he’s pretty quiet and then in the center made I would have much better. Is that a concern me? The maradona total control, another left 4 dead player, and he would just everything you want in a liter crazy, sometimes, but overall his passion and his skill would take over a game and he’s lovely to watch and he was a player. The very first I’ll start off as a left-back became an attacking midfielder i. Just love is skill, his vision and then the right cuz, the dawn just phenomenal player. He got better with age. He was like wine.

Haji was similar to that they just put it like that. It got better with age is vision, is skill? Is technique, his mental strength, I love, all that about him and also had an inventor as a substitute. An adventure to me was all around just total football player. Lisica play any position, understood how all the roles were at how everything where he could come in and fill in and dribble people. If you need to pass, he did whatever needed to be done and can play every position out there on the field. So he to me was just one of the most versatile all-around good players, I think, indirectly and directly had probably the biggest impact on me outside of one other player, but on haji. So indirectly, me loving, haji ended up loving cruyff as well. So if was was brilliant and if you want someone who could read the game and just knew what needs to happen when and how and where he was the man and then of course, pele. The greatest of all time would be my centre. He had a huge impact on my life in the early stages of me watching the game. Pele was everything to me and i, just love him so much and then rude hollett as my right winger love his dreads loved his skills, smart and strength and power, and just overall great players. Oh gosh, this is name just let my mind michael nichols, who was the coach for the 1988 dutch team, and he was also ix coach and barcelona coach.
