This is episode 112 and today we’re talking about penalty, kicks so O’Neal go ahead and set us up Spurs just explain what exactly is a penalty? Kick you know when it comes to the game of soccer? What exactly does that mean? I know it’s an emotional time in the game. You know whenever I’m watching soccer with you and Jack penalty kicks or PK’s is there affectionately called in the game of soccer? I’M it’s a really intense time. What is happened in the game? You know when it comes down to wear you’re going to penalty penalty. Kicks are always looked at as it should be, a goal for the team taking the penalty kick and so in many ways. The way that I look at it as this is the penalty kick is all about the players, technical ability and their confidence in their technical ability to kick happens when there’s a foul inside the 18-yard box, which is the box of the goalkeeper, is able to use Their hands in and so of a player drags a player down in the box or does a handball.

A referee points to the center of the the penalty spot inside the 18-yard box and says: hey, it’s a free kick, and so this free-kick is a direct free. Kick that means that nobody has to touch the ball before the ball goes in the back of the net, so apero can strike the ball and put it directly in the back that without anybody else having to touch the ball, they literally like put the ball down There not too far from the goalie how many you can also go to penalty kicks at the end of a soccer game. How does that happen? If there’s a tie breaker in a tournament game? How are the tie happens after regulation time that go to overtime and after overtime? Then they go to penalty kicks in tiebreakers, so it has to be something. That’S a tiebreaker doesn’t happen in every game. It’S soccer games can end in a draw, so so it has to happen for something that matters like a tiebreaker or advancing into second round of a tournament or not the thing where two teams are trying to qualify for the next round or trying to advance in A league – and they may have to do something like that, as well so from from PJ’s my standpoint as it’s all about their technical ability and their self confidence in in their technical ability, so the better that they can strike a ball, the better that they can Put the ball exactly where they want. It is the more common, so I can have going into it, because it can be nerve-racking they’re, going up and they’re trying to score a goal, and you know in most part of head lice like oh, I should be able to do this. I have to put it in you know, and then there’s pressure to goalkeepers moving back and forth and my mind always goes to watching back in 2006 World Cup of the Dawn. I think you were there with me too, and they were so beautiful because of his technical abilities. First one he took was against Portugal and I think it was like a quarter finals and he steps up to take this penalty. Kick in the goalkeeper. I’Ve seen it. We were seeing him makes saves on TK’s, so he was really good. He was on fire, I mean he did not let anything. It’S almost like.

Everybody knew where he was going where you going to place the ball, but after that on Struck it not the goalie. Nobody can stop that ball from going in the back of that, and that has to do with his technical ability and has a soccer player. Zidane is the epitome of of technical Perfection like he is just a wonderful example how to strike that ball, and so, as a pride soccer, training are soccer. Lessons are designed to teach players how to strike the ball properly. Over and over again, we work on these things can Justin Lee so that when they’re faced with a penalty kick in a game, they are able to strike that ball into the back of the net, with full confidence, knowing that they can place it into a corner. They can put it down the middle, they can pull up a 90 wherever they want to place that ball there to put it there and and that’s what we do on our soccer. Lessons are designed to improve their technical ability. Another example of being able to strike the ball while he’s another player. Pirlo Pirlo he’s an Italian soccer player, who is technical ability matches that of the Dons news ability to strike the ball, and so he stepped up and took a peek a one time where he was so confident that he actually chipped the ball in the air and Had to go just underneath the crossbar in the goalies diving the wrong way, so he steps up and he’s just so smooth and so calm, because he he knows that his right foot can strike that ball perfectly. So he comes up steps up and just chips at the going diving on the way, and it’s just beautiful. I was going crazy and people still talk about it to this day he had to have the technique down to pull something so good. Seeing you know, I know, like you, love the John and Pirlo and those are you know, I’m kind of old school. You know the old guard of players who we love and respect and adore, Tulsa Soccer Lessons but speak to you just before we go briefly. You know who are current stars who are doing really great with PK’s, because you know we always teach our clients at Pride. You know soccer training about players, they can learn from, they can grow from who they play. Similarly, to give them that inspiration who are people currently on the scene that are nailing their PK’s and why are they able to do that? Is it just cuz there, a soccer stud? Are they just gifted? Do they just have good luck, you know. What’S the deal? Is now to look up? Who is Cristiano, Ronaldo he’s a strong and it’s because he works on his skill. All the time he’s always working on his skill day in and day out, and so he steps up. He has full confidence. If you watch him, he wants to take the penalty. Kick.

He wants to take the last one with all the pressure on him because he wants to hit that ball home and it’s because he has that self-confidence in this technical ability cuz he works on it daily. You understand exactly what is strike the ball he’s reading the goalies mouth movements and he’s totally focused on putting that ball into the back of the neck cuz. He wants to be known for a player, a clutch player, meaning that he is someone that everybody can depend on when things go bad or things are difficult and it’s all because of his technical ability and his confidence in what like you’re saying, the training, the practice And that’s the confidence that we can give you as a soccer player. If you want to improve your skill on, maybe you are wanting to become more proficient at penalty, kicks or earn more playing time or you just need to learn how to trap and pass and shoot whatever your needs.
