Yes, you do a lot of times, I’m talking to different people.. It’S different parents – and I you know, I’m always looking at ways to improve our training, to make sure that kids are getting exactly what they need out of it, improving quickly and getting new technical skills and abilities, and one of the things over the years of coaching That I’ve implemented is a process that that works always and is never fail to work, and it’s something that also goes in line with John Wooden he’s one of the most successful coaches of all time in basketball, and it kind of made me you know, shooting out Of you, we were talking about this earlier yesterday and how you’re talking at work and John wouldn’t have this concept of you know explaining, demonstrating imitating, correcting and then repetition and I kind of laughed when you talk to me about it, because I was like man, that’s exactly What we do at Pride soccer training – and it makes sense that if one of the most successful coaches of all-time used it and we’re using as well, no wonder why are players rapidly develop, and so we have a concept where you know the kid comes in. I first explain the moves or the drill that were doing, and I have them first try to understand just by telling them what we’re going to do.

Then I go about demonstrating the drill and when I demonstrated I make sure that they’re paying attention I go through move by move as to what we are doing. The kids are watching sometimes or even trying to imitate as I’m demonstrating. I stopped him. I say no. First watch the demonstration make sure you gather it all in and. Then we would do some invitation and you know, while they’re imitating I’m going through an unarmed, correcting what they’re doing step by step, making sure they understand. Sometimes I break it down into like you know, five steps. This is what we do and you can’t skip a step because it changes how the move works. It changes how things do every step is important and I are doing our soccer training lessons. I make sure and tell them hey each touch matters, because it changes how things are done. It changes how to defend a response to you. It changes how quickly you are able to get to the ball before then. So I make sure that when they’re imitating they’re also receiving correction time and time again and after that, it’s just repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition. We just continue to work on the move until they Master it and we work on it at training session after training session, because it takes time and then we repeat the whole process again and we go through it and I find that kids rapidly develop. You know within just a few months: kids are progressing to where they can take players on the confident and their parents are amazed at how well they’re doing how confident they’re player their kid is on the soccer field. You know, I have coaches even say, hey man. We see you know this player improving quickly, and I appreciate the work that you’re doing and it’s fun to see that it’s very rewarding and you know when were demonstrating when were explaining. I make sure that I say whatever I need to say for the kid to understand. I find out what words work best for them. I find out what ways of demonstrating work best for them, so they can grasp the drill, the skill of the technique that they need to improve and it’s just happens rapidly, and I love it and the fact that you know this was something that a coach used.

Preview play I like John Wooden, who is just an amazing person to learn off of and who I’m reading the book right now and learning from. So it’s one of those things that you know. I feel like it’s just a blessing to have lined up with something like that in to see the fruits of my labor in the fruits of the children, children and labor when they go in and they work and they see that they improve rapidly and the joy That comes on their face and they help some to overcome fear and they’re learning lifelong lessons with this is well so they learning that was hard, work and tenacity. They can overcome so many obstacles. They can overcome fear they can overcome for technique. They can overcome you. No bad thoughts. They can overcome all these things because they’re constantly working on their craft – and I find to that with strong technique in tough situations, players able to have a lot more confidence, and therefore, there’s less likely the ability for fear to creep in because they are at a firm Believer in their technique, they know how to strike a ball while they know how to dribble well they’re, confident in their face, and it’s all because we go through at explaining demonstrating we go through. You know imitating the moves, correcting them and then repetition, repetition, repetition, repetition – and that brings us a whole lot of success and I think that’s what players have to do in every single aspect of their their game. They have to go through and work on these things. Cuz, it’s a proven method and it works, and you know it’s true.. You may have seen this to it in cheerleading and track. You know just players working on their skill and how it improves and it’s the same thing they have to get the explanation. Then the demonstration – and they have to imitate it constantly your coaches, correcting you. I can remember when I ran track for little bit to coaches working on my running technique and helping me to improve and. So it’s no different with soccer is the same thing. We just work on improving our technique, improving our skill set by just working on it and it’s wonderful to see so you know I just continuing to to work on these moves and and helping players to improve and yeah. I just think it’s it’s wonderful that kids can get better as time goes on working on our skills.
