This is episode 107, trapping the soccer ball, so trapping a soccer ball, also known as receiving you might hear some of the Hague receiving the ball. Dropping the ball. You hear that they’re both how to cushion the ball. I think of it as like. The ball is an egg, and so if you’re chopping, the soccer ball pretended set an egg, and so, if you are a list of catching that ball with your hands, you try to push in it. Will it snow different with your feet on that soccer balls coming through your trying to push in that ball with your feet and the very beginning parts of of trapping in our Tulsa soccer lessons we talked about., We train kids to trap the soccer ball with the Inside of their foot that allows them to put the most amount of surface area on the soccer ball and and control it so dropping you can drop the ball soccer ball directly. Underneath you, you can chop the ball into space, so you can run on to it. So it’s all about being to control the soccer ball, exactly where you wanted to go, and so the very basic part of it. We start off with with teaching an AR stand for soccer lessons. We start off teaching with the inside of the foot, because it’s the one of the easier ways to master trapping the soccer ball and get some wins. We want to help their confidence, you know sore, and so when we come in and start with, you know the passing.

I were talking about trapping the soccer ball, but when we start with the basics of passing, for example, we want to give each soccer player something that they can really master and get a win on and feel like. They have a solid foundation to build on. So when you’re trapping the soccer ball, you know that means just talking you like simply Define that. Is it how you slowing the ball down to where you wanted to go floating the ball down, stopping it getting the ball to do what you want getting the soccer ball to do what you wanted to do when it comes to you, so you can then either Pass or dribble with it or shoot it another part of the foot that we start to work on is the outside of the foot, and this is something I see a lot of soccer players during art are Tulsa soccer lessons they allowed times will come in and Try to trap with the outside of foot immediately and I stopped them, and I get them to to know. Okay will bro focus on the inside first then we get to the outside when we get to the outside. It becomes a more tender softer part of controlling the ball soccer ball, you’re, going through the same emotions as you are, with passing the soccer ball. Okay, lot of the same oceans sell your first learning to trap the soccer ball with the inside of your foot. Then we’re progressing from there. I didn’t I miss that so now I don’t know if you said that I missed that. I know that it again because I don’t know soccer. This is great, because this can help break it down for people who don’t understand. So we go through the same rhythms outside or inside foot. First then outside then we move from the outside of foot to the top of the foot. So there’s a part of the foot I called the dead spot or when you’re trapping the soccer ball. If you let the ball just hit the part of your foot, will your toes meet your your foot? The shoe has a natural cushion to it and helps you to control that ball. So as soon as a soccer ball hits that party, but it dies in front of you and you’re able to control it a lot easier when it’s coming out of the air, which is a really great move. If you’re watching a soccer game – and you see your player – who can do that – it’s really impressive because and it’s maybe not something you want to do every time. But if you need the soccer ball to just completely, you know fall at your feet. It’S really impressive! When you see a soccer player, has that level of skill is, ball comes flying to them and I’ve seen you do it before and I love hearing you talk about soccer technique because it’s so geeky, you know what I mean it’s like you know. You know all about training and soccer technique on like this infant Isomil level. Yet you’re always you know, I know studying and training, and you know it learning more, but it can be daunting if you don’t know about the game of soccer. So that’s why it’s really important.

If you have a soccer player, they need to come out and try their first session with us, because, usually when people come out, they try their first session. Maybe the soccer player has old, the parent has goals for them. Maybe they’re not good at passing the ball, they need work, trapping the ball. We work with them and usually do you see Improvement after that first session, I’m in the third child then and focus do you see improvement with these things where they are growing every time they come out that first session they’re just learning what I’m expecting to do About a second session, they’re moving through it and typically speaking, you know – I have. I have some seven year olds that come out and they’ll learn the quickest, because, when they’re that young there a sponge, so they start to take in these Concepts and they move quickly and in no time they’re moving with kids that are 3 years older than them. Because they have learned these fundamentals and they adapt very quickly and they’re easy to grasp. You know that we work with all ages. I mean we have some high school kids who are perfectly go to college. We have people in middle school and really it’s how quickly you come in and improve it. You can be a high school or you don’t have to be 7, but you can still, you know, really really progressed rapidly. You know. Sometimes we want to limit things, but age is not a factor here. You come in, we work with you, you become more skillful in the short space and time and it works quickly. I’Ve had parents say to me, man, don’t know how do you? You know you just move through that practice so quickly and so easily and they were touching the ball so much. There is very little down time and that’s how we’ve designed it. We have very little down time and I mean seconds – and maybe even like 2 minutes of downtime during the whole session, where kids are just getting some water and coming back and they’re going again at it and because of that they get so many more touches on The ball in that our space of time and they’re, working and they’re learning and having fun and by the it’s over the kids, always say it is it over already and I’m like yeah, that went by really fast, didn’t it. And how yes and I kind of sad – but it’s always a good – they always leave that way that always enjoy it’s, because they’re learning the fundamentals of learning the concepts that makes our Tulsa soccer lessons. You know about the rest, you’re going to get excellent instruction. It’S going to be found in solid your house going to get that attention to detail. That’S going to make you know all those changes cuz. You know they say the devil’s in the details. It’S like. We really look at all the details and then give your child. The encouragement and instruction in exactly what they need to progress. You know as a soccer player or soccer soccer lessons.

We also teach them how to trap the ball with the sole of the foot which is similar to the top, but you just use in the bottom of it and you just touch the top of the bond. It dies for you when the ball is bouncing off. The ground, so you just time it perfectly, and you don’t have to lift your foot very high. You just keep it up about maybe 6 in you touch the top of the ball and the ball will die for you. Another two parts are the chest, and the head-to-head sounds like how do you trap with the head? But if you have proper technique and you pushing the ball with use your knees to cushion it and your head to direct it, and you can control that ball with your chest. You’Re doing some other things, you’re, just relaxing as the ball comes in and bring it down. You can also Flex to control the ball. The soccer ball and push it in the direction that you want to go in because he will explain all these things that are so fascinating to. You know she performed on the soccer field, but you have to come out and get the lesson and we would love to do that for you.
